Why we exist
Health data should work for you.
Most health technology extracts value from users. It aggregates data, sells insights to insurers and advertisers, and leaves individuals with nothing but an app they paid for. We built Fluid Medical to invert that model entirely.
Our urinalysis platform — Oria — gives individuals access to the kind of biomarker tracking that previously required a clinical setting. A simple strip, scanned with your phone, returns results across up to 60 active markers. The data stays with you. It is encrypted, permissioned, and never sold.
At the same time, we built infrastructure that enables organisations — long-term care homes, employers, clinical research teams — to deploy population-level health monitoring without compromising individual sovereignty.
If your health data is being monetised by someone else, it is not YOUR health data.
That principle shapes every product decision we make: from the cryptographic architecture beneath Oria, to the contractual commitments we make to every user, to the deliberate choice to remain headquartered in Vancouver under Canadian data law — with regulated subsidiaries in the United States (Fluid Precision Ltd, Delaware) for CLIA-lab pathways and the UAE (Fluid Scientific FCZO) for MOHAP-compliant data residency.

Fluid Medical and Fluid Scientific are distinct legal entities by design — separating the consumer product from the IP and infrastructure layer beneath it.

The operating subsidiary. Fluid Medical Ltd builds and operates Oria — the consumer health platform — holds all Vessel-acquired patents and trademarks, leads R&D, and manages all direct relationships with individuals, healthcare organisations, and enterprise clients.

Two decades at the intersection of resource industries, data infrastructure, and enterprise technology. A biochemist and co-founder of TeraSpan Networks, he later co-founded Whitecap RSC Medical. Chris founded Fluid Medical to build the health-intelligence layer clinicians needed but couldn’t access.

A chemical engineer with a Ph.D. from Lehigh University, Jesús has spent nearly two decades in medical diagnostics, working across key areas of biotechnology, from recombinant protein production and assay design to rapid test development. As Strategic Technical Advisor, he helps shape the science behind Fluid’s at-home biomarker testing.
Progress
How we got here.
It all started with the Founder — Chris Geisler, a renowned alpine and ice climber, stuntman, and operator. Just like his boldest climbing creation, Wolverine — the hardest ice climb on the planet — Chris methodically approached something that has been said “can’t be done”: affordable longitudinal health monitoring.
He asked “What if health data actually belonged to the patient so that it could move?”
Fluid Medical was founded to answer it. The vision was a secure personal platform where individuals could aggregate their medical history, integrate inputs from wearables, self-testing, and environmental data, and build a longitudinal health profile they owned completely. Not stored somewhere on their behalf — genuinely theirs. Portable, visible, and under their control.
Fluid pathway
- 2020 — Whitecap Risk & Safety Consultants. Formed to support the movie and energy industries during the COVID crisis with innovative operational solutions.
- 2021–2022 — First in North America. Whitecap RSC COVID Management Inc. became the first company in North America to successfully operate COVID-19 testing and management across all major Canadian airports and many industrial sites, including LNG Canada.
- 2022 — Fluid Scientific & Fluid Medical formation. Formed to apply lessons from rapid testing, sovereign medical data, and data privacy exceeding Canadian and energy-industry requirements to a wider healthcare context.
- 2023 — Research & development. Concepts in consumer health intelligence researched and developed. Over US$2M in founder and Family & Friends capital deployed across 2022–2024.
- Jan 2024 — Fluid Medical Ltd incorporated. Healthcare-vertical operating subsidiary incorporated. Early product concepts deployed in limited Canadian markets.
- Feb 2025 — Vessel Health acquisition. All Vessel patents, trademarks, product technology, and goodwill transferred to Fluid Medical Ltd (USPTO-recorded). 42,000+ paying customers inherited as the Oria reactivation pool.
- 2026 — Oria launches. Fluid Scientific Development Limited launches publicly with 5 verticals. Fluid Medical releases Oria app into UAE and Canada, with US to follow. Timelines subject to regulatory clearance.
Vessel Health — prior to acquisition
- 2019 — The first strip. Proof-of-concept urinalysis strip reading pH and glucose via smartphone camera. Patent application filed.
- 2020 — Biomarker expansion. Expanded to 9 biomarkers. Clinical validation of accuracy and reliability completed.
- 2021 — Rapid growth. From 0 active users in Q4 2020 to 15,000 active users by end of 2021.
- 2022–2024 — Peak — 42,000+ paying customers. 68,244-record user database; 42,000+ paying customers (≥US$1 spend); 84% female-skewed audience — the base Oria now reactivates. Acquired by Fluid Medical Ltd, February 2025.
